Reverend Kelvin J. Anthony (a.k.a. “Pastor KJ”) is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and is a Second Generational Minister of the Gospel. He is a 2009 graduate of the P.D. Jackson-Olin High School, Birmingham Alabama. Briefly, he attended the Lawson State State Community College of Birmingham, Alabama. In any attempt to further his education, he attended briefly Lexington Theological Seminary of Lexington, Kentucky where he took a few courses for the Certificate of African American Ministry. He acknowledged and accepted the Lord as his Lord and Savior at the age of 6 and rededicated his life back to Jesus Christ at the age of 8. Growing up as the grandson of a preacher, he sensed a call upon his life. At the age of 13, he heard the voice of God and answered his call to preach the Gospel. At the age of 15, he received his license to preach the Gospel at the Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Bessemer, Alabama. Down the road of life, he left the Methodist faith and transitioned to the Baptist faith, where he served faithfully in many positions with joy & enthusiasm and was ordained into the Gospel ministry at the age of 23.
He is the Founder of the Empower the Pastor Podcast and bimonthly sends out text messages to encourage pastors and ministers across the country.
On the 18th of September 2022, he was elected and called by the Lord as the Senior Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Norwood. Above all of the awards and accomplishments, Pastor KJ is devoted, dedicated, and determined to love God, love his family, and sharing the Gospel to the world!
